Alex, Akil, and I were talking about how the site was going. We were all thrill with how the first year went. A great deal of acclaim from fellow sites, and just meeting artist who are about promoting the culture of hip-hop, no gimmicks. However; we have been having issues on the path of which we would like the site to go. We were some what unsatisfied with the direction the site was going in. Posting, the newest song, video on the hour every hour just wasn’t enough for us. Shout out to Nah Right and 2DopeBoyz, and all the other sites, which are able to deliver the steady stream of content in that fashion.
After some collaborative thinking amongst the three of us we knew we wanted to do something more intimate (pause). Our goal was to provide exclusive content; something, which was original and not available anywhere else except at “It’s The Official”. As time progressed the we came to the conclusion we would not be able to achieve such a feat with the current format of the site. We wanted to be more of an editorial, an online magazine. So, in the beginning of February/March we began redesigning the site. Not only did we change the site cosmetically but we also attained a wonderful group of writers and photographers, and numerous other people to contribute to the site. We left wordpress all together and got our own server, and other of numerous techno mubo-jumbo, which I dare not dwell into.
From ths day on think of us as a cross between Wax Poetics (thumbs up if you know them) and Fader Magazine. We will be having a lot in stored for our readers over the next weeks and months and hope you stay tune. So without further a due I present to you the new “It’s the Official”!!!!
