This past Tuesday Talib Kweli participated in Summerstage by holding a concert in Red Hook Brooklyn. Let me be the first to say Talib Kweli is one of the most punctual performers let alone rappers I have ever come across. If call time is 7pm then the show goes on at 7pm. I arrived to the show late… around 7:30pm to see Talib already on stage performing Gutter Rainbows. The show was very alive and almost all of Brooklyn was in the park feeling it like a UK concert… something which to me is a rarity. I never seen a crowd of such size at a free event that was not located in the city. At around 8pm Talib went off the stage… leaving the crowd chanting his name, only to return for an hour long encore performance.
